Important: If you are an RCPI trainee please note, some of our examinations dates might clash with your tutorials, please bear in mind this when booking your examination.

Any exam candidate working in Ireland can apply for a refund upon successfully passing an exam, under the HSE Clinical Course and Examination Refund Scheme.

MFOM Written

Applications are closed

The upcoming sitting of MFOM Written Exam will take place on 22 January 2025. Applications are now closed.

Verifications are completed up to two weeks after the closing date for applications.

Applications closed Please note:
  • The MFOM exam is held online, via remote invigilation. Candidates may sit the exam anywhere in the world, provided they have a reliable internet connection. Click here for more information.
  • The results will be sent to the candidates within four weeks after the exam date.

MFOM Portfolio

Applications are now closed

Next MFOM Portfolio will take place on 26 February 2025 which is the closing date for applications and the submission deadline. The applications will be open from 29 January 2025. Verification of the applications will start after the closing date. Please note that the candidate's portfolios will be reviewed for anti plagiarism as part of the submission process.

UPDATE: from 2025 the MFOM Viva exam will be held online. 

Next MFOM Viva will be held on 14 & 15 April 2025. The exam fees for the Viva exam are included in the portfolio exam fees so there is no separate application link. Candidates who have passed the portfolios will be contacted by the RCPI Exams Department with further instructions. If you are resitting the Viva exam, please contact the RCPI Exams Department at exams@rcpi.ie for further instructions.
