RCPI is proud to have a global reach, building relationships with many countries to improve medical training at home and abroad and to support the development of our respective healthcare systems. Along with our partners, RCPI has developed several postgraduate medical training programmes to attract well-qualified and highly-motivated international doctors to train in Ireland.

International Residency Training Programme

The IRTP in Internal Medicine and Paediatrics is a three-year training programme, fully delivered in Ireland, certified by RCPI and recognised for registration purposes by our partners.

The ICFP offers clinical training in several specialties to international doctors who are sponsored by their government, hospital or national training body.

EQUALS Initiative

Details of RCPI's EQUALS Initiative, which seeks to tackle global health inequality by sourcing and donating good quality equipment from Irish hospitals to hospitals in Zambia and other low-income countries.
