Royal College of Physicians of Ireland welcomes 219 new Members
219 doctors from 24 countries were admitted as Members of RCPI at conferring ceremonies held at RCPI’s historic home No 6 Kildare Street, on 11 and 12 December.
Membership of RCPI (MRCPI) is obtained through successful completion of examination, and it is an internationally-recognised benchmark of excellence valued by healthcare employers worldwide.
In his welcoming address, RCPI President Dr Diarmuid O’Shea said: “If you took the time recently to follow the ups and downs of those who put themselves forward in our General Election, I am sure you were struck by the commitment, determination, passion and focus of most of the politicians. As doctors our medical equivalent is seeing progress and improvement in patient outcomes and healthcare delivery. This also takes commitment, passion, resilience, determination, passion, focus and teamwork.”
“You now become an integral part of the fabric and history of the college, a global and connected group of medical practitioners all over the world. Today you become an ambassador for this college but you also become a custodian of what the college was, what the college is, and what the college will do. Your contribution and input will be vital in the years ahead,” he said.
Congratulations to our newest Members!
