Royal College of Physicians of Ireland welcomes 173 new Members

On 13 and 14 December 2023, 173 doctors from 22 different countries were conferred as Members of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.

The ceremonies marked a significant milestone in the careers of these physicians who had successfully achieved their Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (MRCPI) qualification in three specialties: General Medicine, Paediatrics, and Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Dr Diarmuid O'Shea, the President of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, welcomed the newly conferred Members with warmth and appreciation.

Highlighting the sense of community amongst doctors, Dr O'Shea said: "The skills, knowledge, and networks that you develop during your training here will be the foundation and launchpad for your future working lives. With your membership, you will join a community of doctors in advocating for best patient care and outcomes, participating in innovation and research, and supporting each other in what can at times be challenging, but still really rewarding careers."

MRCPI is an internationally recognised benchmark of excellence, valued by healthcare employers worldwide.
