RCPI Council Elections 2024 – Voting Open

The nomination period for the four Ordinary Councillor positions on RCPI Council has now closed and voting in the Council elections 2024 is now open for all Fellows of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.

The following candidates have put themselves forward for election:

Ordinary Councillors

Medicine: The following nine Fellows have put themselves forward for nomination for the two Ordinary Councillor (Medicine) positions as follows: 

  • Professor Declan Gerard Byrne
  • Professor Aine Carroll
  • Dr Laura Durcan
  • Dr Tariq Mahmood
  • Dr Mohammad Saleem
  • Professor Jugal Kishor Sharma
  • Dr Bernard (Brian) Sweeney
  • Dr Ashok Tahilyani
  • Professor Michael Watts

Paediatrics: The following two Fellows have put themselves forward for the one Ordinary Councillor (Paediatrics) position as follows: 

  • Dr Pamela O’Connor
  • Professor Clodagh O’Gorman

Obstetrics and Gynaecology: The following two Fellows have put themselves forward for the one Ordinary Councillor (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) position as follows: 

  • Dr Suzanne O’Sullivan
  • Dr Gowri Vaidyanathan

The election of Ordinary Councillors is determined by a vote of College Fellows under the College By-Laws. Voting opens this Friday, 31 May 2024.  

Civica Election Services (CES) is administering the online election on behalf of RCPI. All Fellows of the College in good standing will receive an email from takepart@cesvotes.com with a unique link to the online ballot sheet (as this is a mailshot, please check your Clutter/Spam folder as well as your email inbox). The ballot closes on 19 July 2024 at noon (GMT). 

The election of Ordinary Councillors is determined by a vote of College Fellows under the College By-Laws.
