Meet the new Dean of RCPI Faculty of Occupational Medicine

On 15 November 2024 the Dean of RCPI Faculty of Occupational Medicine, Dr Sheelagh O’Brien, officially handed over the Chain of Office to the new Dean, Dr Alex Reid.

Dr Reid is a consultant occupational physician in Tallaght University Hospital, and is clinical associate professor in occupational medicine at Trinity College Dublin. He graduated from University College Dublin in 1990. Following completion of specialist training in occupational medicine, he was awarded Certificate of Successful Completion of Specialist Training by RCPI in 2002, and Fellowship of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine in 2006.  

He has wide experience in occupational medicine across many services and industries, in both the public and private sectors, and is currently the National Clinical Director for Corporate Services with Vhi Healthcare.
