At RCPI Induction Week, 664 Trainees begin new journeys

Trainees who are commencing their training programmes this month were welcomed at the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland’s (RCPI) annual Induction Week. They participated in a series of talks and sessions with college staff and clinical teachers held at the Alex Hotel, Dublin from 01-05 July.

This month, a total of 664 Trainees are commencing RCPI training programmes both national (Basic Specialist Training; Higher Specialist Training) and international (International Residency Training; International Clinical Fellowship; International Medical Graduate Training Initiative).

During their induction, Trainees received opening addresses from RCPI President Dr Diarmuid O’Shea and the clinical directors of their training programmes. They were introduced by RCPI staff to curriculum objectives and to resources available from the college’s Health & Wellbeing department. There were also insightful presentations and breakout sessions delivered by recent Trainees about adjusting to life on the training programmes.

RCPI is proud to offer a range of training programmes that set doctors on a path to becoming a consultant.

We are thrilled to have all Trainees onboard, and we wish them the best of luck.
