Annual JOGS Meeting held at No 6 Kildare Street
On 25 November 2022, the Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and the Junior Obstetricians & Gynaecologists Society held their Annual Meeting. The event was held at the home of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland at No. 6 Kildare Street.
The theme for this year’s event was ‘Rebirth,’ an appropriate message as we emerge from the pandemic into in-person events once again. For this event, the committee put a focus on addressing the Trainee networking opportunities which have been lost in recent years.
The event featured a fascinating programme of talks, with some key topics being:
- ENTOG Exchange in Norway
- Demographic Changes in Primiparae of Irish Ethnicity Between 2000 And 2020
- Fatal Fetal Anomaly: Exploring Experiences of Women and Their Partners
- Impact Of Adverse Clinical Events on Maternity Healthcare Staff: The Unspoken Effects Of Second Victim Phenomenon
- Maternal Expectations and Experience During Labour And Postnatal Period
- Outcomes Of a Charity Funded Fertility Preservation Service For Female Survivors Of Childhood Cancer
The Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Afternoon Session was delighted to host the event’s afternoon session.
The programme included talks from:
- Prof Sam Coulter Smith
- Dr Abdul Sultan
- Dr Myra Fitzpatrick
- Dr Ann Brannigan
- Dr Simon Craven
- Dr Ranee Thakar
This year, the event featured all-new breakout rooms, where trainees could practice their technical skills, utilising simulation in laparoscopy, ultrasound or labour ward skills.
