Mentoring

Overview

The mentoring initiative is a confidential mentoring service that operates on a self-referral basis, at no cost to trainees or trainers. Our mentors receive specialised training and are equipped to help those who are dealing with issues such as:

  • Making career choices, or if they are not sure if they've chosen the right specialty
  • Balancing family life with work
  • Considering leaving medicine and pursuing a different career
  • Experiencing challenges with interpersonal relationships at work
  • Struggling following bereavement or traumatic events
  • Encountering challenges with contracts
  • Managing time effectively
  • Self-development, personal development and career development
  • Working on complex projects with variety of challenges

Trainees and trainers who contact RCPI to request support are matched to the mentor who is best equipped to offer support for their particular needs. Our mentors then share their knowledge and experience to help you achieve the best results.

If you would like to become a mentor please email wellbeing@rcpi.ie
