Overview

The Faculty of Public Health Medicine offers a variety of prestigious awards aimed at recognising and promoting outstanding achievements and contributions in the field of public health, including:

These awards honour individuals that have demonstrated exceptional commitment, innovation, and impact in advancing public health initiatives, research, education, and practice.

 

Dorothy Stopford Price Medal

The Dorothy Stopford Price Medal was introduced in 2018 to recognise excellence in research or audit on vaccination, immunisation or control of infectious diseases and its potential impact on public health. The medal and an educational grant worth €1,000 is awarded by the Faculty of Public Health Medicine to honour this pioneer in infectious disease control in Ireland.

 

Dr Emer Feely Trainer Excellence Award

The Dr Emer Feely Trainer Excellence Award recognises outstanding contributions by Trainers involved in the Higher Specialist Training (HST) in Public Health Medicine.

 

Kevin Kelleher Medal

The Kevin Kelleher Medalis a prestigious award given for the Best Oral Presentation at the Faculty of Public Health Medicine Winter Scientific Meeting.

 

Outstanding Service to Public Health

The Outstanding Service to Public Health Award recognises individuals who have demonstrated exceptional contributions to the field of Public Health.

 

Valentine Barry Perpetual Trophy

The Valentine Barry Perpetual Trophy is an award presented by the Board of the Faculty. It is given in recognition of exceptional performance in the exams.

 

Zachary Johnson Medal

The Zachary Johnson Medal is a prestigious award given for the Best Oral Presentation at the Faculty of Public Health Medicine Summer Scientific Meeting.
